Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 9 March 2026
1. Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules governing your use of the Overscope platform. It supplements our Terms of Service and applies to all users.
2. Permitted Use
You may use Overscope to:
- Upload and analyse Statements of Work and project documentation
- Compare project management data against contracted scope boundaries
- Generate change order drafts for professional review
- Integrate with authorised project management tools (Jira, Asana, Monday.com)
- Export your data for your internal business purposes
3. Prohibited Use
You must not use the Service to:
- Upload documents containing special category personal data (health records, biometric data, political opinions, etc.) as defined by UK GDPR Article 9
- Process personal data without a lawful basis or appropriate privacy notices
- Upload content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, fraudulent, or infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits, access controls, or security measures
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond the provided API
- Share login credentials or grant unauthorised access to third parties
- Use AI-generated outputs (scope classifications, change orders) without human review for legally binding purposes
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or AI models
- Interfere with the Service's infrastructure, overload systems, or introduce malware
- Resell, redistribute, or create derivative services based on the Service
4. Document Upload Guidelines
When uploading documents, you must ensure:
- You have the right to upload and process the document
- Documents do not contain sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary (redact where possible)
- Documents are genuine business records, not fabricated or test data in production
- File sizes comply with plan limits (maximum 25 MB per file)
- Supported formats only: PDF, DOCX, TXT
5. AI Output Responsibilities
Overscope uses artificial intelligence to assist with scope analysis. You acknowledge and accept that:
- All AI outputs must be reviewed by a qualified professional before use
- Change order drafts are starting points — they require your review, editing, and approval before being sent to clients
- Scope classifications are probabilistic and should inform, not replace, professional judgement
- You are solely responsible for any actions taken based on AI-generated content
6. Fair Usage
Your plan includes fair usage allowances for document parsing, scope comparisons, and API calls. We may throttle or suspend access if usage significantly exceeds reasonable levels for your plan tier. We will notify you before taking action and offer an upgrade path.
7. Enforcement
Violation of this AUP may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of your account. We will endeavour to notify you of violations before taking action, except where immediate action is required to protect the Service, other users, or comply with legal obligations.
8. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to support@overscope.co.uk.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the Service with 14 days' notice.
